Alumni to Join UW Faculty

31 January 2023—A College of Social Sciences Alumni is to join the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) faculty.

Juan Eman Fernandez earned his undergraduate degree in BA Social Sciences (Major in History and Minor in Philosophy) at the College of Social Sciences in UP Baguio. Eman will be joining the Faculty of History in UW in the next year.

The Cornell Southeast Asia Program is hosting the Next Gatty Lecture at the Kahin Center and via Zoom on 2 February at 12:30 pm. This lecture will feature Eman and he will present his research, ‘Sex and Gender in the Ethnographic Encounter in the Highlands of the American Colonial Philipines’.
