Shaping minds that shape the nation

Research in the College of Social Sciences is interdisciplinary, socially engaged, ethically committed and relevant to the region and the nation. This is aligned with the University of the Philippines’ core values of honor and excellence, as well as the University of the Philippines Baguio’s mission in delivering quality tertiary instruction in the Cordillera and Northern Luzon.

Our research is done in the service to the community, in response to social issues faced by the region, and in hopes to achieve social transformation. The College of Social Sciences works under an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research approach. Partnering with our scholars, researchers, and students can ensure not only the solving of complex social and cultural issues in the local, regional, or national level, but it also ensures strong discourse and exchange of ideas.

It is through the help of partnerships and donors that we are able to maintain excellence in Cordillera and Indigenous research, and in quality tertiary education in Northern Luzon.
