He is currently on leave and pursuing a doctorate in Southeast Asian History at Universität Hamburg, Germany. His dissertation examines European ethnological imaginaries of late 19th century Filipinos. He holds an international masters in ASEAN (Southeast Asia) Studies from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia and a BA in History from UP Diliman. He has taught History, Social Sciences, and Social and Development Studies in UP Baguio. He also taught in UP Los Baños and served placement at the External Relations Division of the ASEAN Secretariat, Indonesia.
